Don’t let your sexy, svelte, summer self “fall” victim to the season! This autumn join the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) and Masa Restaurant for “Latin Mondays,” a night of Latin-inspired food and dance classes to keep you feeling hot, hot, hot!

La Asociación de la Explanada está ofreciendo clases de yoga gratuitas en la Explanada todos los miércoles de 6:00pm a 7:00pm. Hasta el 29 de septiembre, los asistentes podrán ejercitarse con yoga al tiempo que disfrutan de la puesta del sol con uno de los panoramas más bonitos de Boston.

Bianelys Javier is a 19 year-old vocalist who studies music through Berklee College of Music’s City Music Network, a nonprofit program that grants music education to young musicians across the country at no cost to them or their families. This summer, Bianelys was granted one of 82 City Music Summer Scholarship to attend Berklee’s intensive Five-Week Summer Performance Program where she has been rigorously honing her skills.

And they’re off! Be one of the first to participate in the first ever Great Stone Dam Classic canoe and kayak race. Spend the day by (or on!) the beautiful Merrimack River in Lawrence, MA. The event features three different races to incorporate paddlers of all skill levels. The only requirement is the gumption to race. So whether you’re actually racing or just there for moral support, it’s bound to be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Berklee College of Music presents its 17th annual Berklee City Music Scholarship Concert on Tuesday, August 10, 7:30 p.m., at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston. Talented urban teens from the Boston area and Berklee City Music Network sites across the country will perform rock, pop, jazz, inspirational music and r&b songs. Following tradition, students will only learn of their scholarship awards when their identities are revealed from the stage at a break in the concert.

On Friday, July 30, the Museum of Fine Arts presents a free community day from 10 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., made possible through the support of the Highland Street Foundation.

Through a special collaboration with Mayor Thomas M. Menino's Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events, the Tito Puente Latin Music Series descends on City Hall Plaza for a remarkable concert. The free music series continues with Caliente, a Celebration of Latin Music and Culture with Jerry Rivera and Eguie y su Orquesta at City Hall Plaza, July 31, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Clarence Major is among the most celebrated and innovative of contemporary African American writers. He writes and paints the life he experiences, “I’m often interested in painting what I feel about what I see rather than what I think I see or remember or imagine.”
